TIRANGI DAAL

Ingredients
                                                                                                For 3-4 persons                                        
  • Bengal gram split lentil 1 cup
  • Onion 1 large chopped
  • Tomato 1 chopped
Garlic chopped 1 tbsp
  • Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
  • Sliced capsicum (few slices)
  • Green chilli chopped (as per taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder
  • Fresh coriander chopped 1 tbsp
Method
  • Wash and soak daal for 30 minutes.
  • Add turmeric and salt with daal and water and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Dont let lentils mashed.
  • Heat oil in pan and add cumin seeds and chopped onion.
  • When onion turns soft, add chopped ginger-garlic and saute.
  • Add tomatoes and saute. 
  • Add green chilli, capsicum.
  • Add dry spices and salt and mix well.
  • Drain water and add cooked daal.
  • Let simmer for 3-4 minutes on low heat.
  • Tirangi daal is ready. Serve hot with rice or chapati.
