- Boiled potatoes 3-4
- (Dry spices are same for saag and kofta)
- Ginger garlic finely chopped 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander powder 1 tsp for each
- Garam Masala 1 tsp for each.
- Black pepper powder 1 tsp for each
- Kasoori meth dry 1 tsp
- Carom seeds 1 tsp
- Green chilly finely chopped (Optional)
- Besan 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds (for Saag) 1 tsp
For Saag
- Saag 2 cups (Boil the saag leaves and grind them)
- Onion chopped 2.
- Tomato chopped 1
- Ginger garlic finely chopped 1 tbsp
Method
- Mix all spices and besan in boiled potatoes and mix to form dough and shape the dough in small balls.
- Fry koftas in not very hot oil on less than medium heat. Fry till brown. Keep them aside.
- Heat oil in pan and add cumin and then onion.
- Add ginger garlic when onion turns soft.
- Add tomatoes when onion turns golden brown.
- Add dry spices, salt and cook well.
- Cook till it leaves oil. Then add saag and cook well.
- Cook by mixing frequently for 8-10 minutes.
- Add Koftas and cook for another 6-8 minutes.
- Saag kofta is ready.
- Add butter or desi ghee in saag and serve hot with makki roti or paratha.
